If you want to be successful in your workplace, you must have confidence. If you want to win the love of someone you love and to enjoy the rest of your life with him/her, you must have positive self-esteem. If you want to stay in good health, you need to love yourself.
Having healthy sense of self- esteem, it’s one of the most important things in your life.

self-esteem
But why is it so important to have positive self-esteem?

My 5 favorite techniques for relaxation and stress relief

Woo-ho! It’s Friday. Probably, many of you impatiently waited for the weekend to relax from the stressful week that you had.  Maybe some of you didn’t have many hard days this week, but you still want to use your free time this weekend to rest and relax.
That’s why I want to share with you my 5 favorite techniques for relaxation and stress relief.

1.Deep breathing- The key to deep breathing is to breathe deeply from the abdomen, getting as much fresh air as possible in your lungs. When you take deep breaths from the abdomen, you inhale more oxygen.
* Duration - A few minutes. You can redo this several times during the day.
* How? – Sit comfortably with your back straight down and close your eyes. Direct your attention to your breathing. Your breathing needs to become slower and deeper.

time for yourself2.Instant relaxation - do one of the following things:

2.1. Count slowly to ten.
2.2. Breath slowly and deeply for a short time
2.3. These two things together - counting + deep breathing.

3. A few minutes without thoughts. It’s useful to have a time during the day when you will distance yourself from any troubling thoughts.
* How? – Take a few minutes and try not having any thoughts. It will be easier if you close your eyes. Focus your attention to your breathing. Don’t try to change the rhythm of your breathing. Just follow it.

How can we stop oversleeping?

In my last blog post I wrote that next time I will write something about how you can stop the oversleeping? So, today I will share with you a few steps on how you can eliminate this habit from your life.

clock   The first thing that we need to do is reset our body clock. Go to sleep at the same time every night and get up in the same time every morning. Practice this routine every day. It will take a while till your new behavior becomes automatic. Remember, there is no reason to get down on yourself if you try this for a week and it doesn't become a habit. It’s supposed to take longer than that (maybe you will need more than 2 months to make this new habit). Making a mistake once or twice has no measurable impact on our long-term habits. Give yourself permission to make mistakes, and develop strategies for getting back on track quickly. Second thing you need to do is tell yourself that you will wake up on time. We need to make a decision that we won’t oversleep.

A few reasons why oversleeping has negative effects on your health.

Yesterday, I had an interesting conversation with one of my friends (about my blog). She said that she loves to spend time reading blog posts on different topics. A few days ago, she read my post that I wrote about insomnia. She was inspired to research and read more on the topic regarding sleep. She struggles with oversleeping. I told her that she isn't the only one who is dealing with that problem. It is difficult for many people to fall asleep at night, and when they finally do, it's almost impossible to get up in the morning. I have this problem too.
After I finished faculty, I have too much free time. I don’t have many obligations, because I am still not working. I often stay late at night and sleep late in the morning. Sometimes I sleep more than 10 hours. When I wake up, I feel so groggy, without the willingness to do anything.
I agree 100 % that a good night’s sleep is essential for our health, but also I agree that oversleeping can have negative effects on our health. But, how much sleep is too much?

Top 10 psychological LIFE HACKS

Situation #1: Imagine, you are in a travel agency and you need detailed information about some place that you want to go on a holiday. A person who works there tells you only a part of the information that he thinks you need the most. If they only partially answer your question, just wait. Stay silent and keep the eye contact. They will usually continue talking.

Situation #2: You go to a party with your friends.
There are some new people that you
need to meet for the first time. When you first meet them try to notice their eye color while also smiling at them. Look them in the eyes for a second or two longer. People really respond to it.

Situation #3: Your friend introduced you to their friends. After 10 minutes, they decide to leave. Don’t just say “bye”. Refer them by their name. People love being referred to by their name and it will establish a sense of trust and friendship right away.

People cheat. Discover why.

I don’t believe that there is anyone who has not heard about the most popular book 50 Shades of Grey and also about the movie, which you can already watch in the cinemas. The 50 Shades of Grey syndrome encouraged many young people to talk about their intimate, sexual life and those who are unsatisfied with their partners were encouraged to search for extra pleasure or romance, out of the relationship or marriage. When this happens, we can talk about one complex situation - infidelity, which leaves behind broken promises, hurt feelings, distrust and in many cases it can end the relationship or come to a divorce.

What’s the meaning of infidelity?

Infidelity is a violation of the promise to be faithful to your partner and be honest with him/her. How and what partners think on this topic depends on their cultural and religious background and how they define infidelity. The violation of this promise is very common situation today and one of the biggest reasons for ending many relationships or marriages.

A few simple notes on love

Today, we live in society where you can talk, write and sing free about love. Most of the popular songs are written about love. All of you read books, poems, novels, watch movies and TV shows about this major human emotion - LOVE. Whether you are single, in a relationship or married, you have a need for love and you are searching for it every day. Yes, that’s the way it is, because as human beings we are created to love and be loved.

Simple notes on love
Sometimes we have distorted perception of what love actually is. Also, we have false expectations from our partners, friends and family how they should show their love to us. Most expectations are created under the influence of everything that we read, hear, see and experience every day. Then, our beliefs about love define our behavior and the way how we express our love for the people around us.

But, what is true love and what isn’t?

What's the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?

During my psychology studies, many of my friends asked me what is the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist? I was always trying to explain that there are significant differences between these two professions.

But, what’s the truth? Are you crazy if you go and ask psychologist for help? Do you or your friends know what is the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?

6 things you need to know about psychology!

1. Psychology is the study of the mind and behavior

Psychology is the study of the mental processes and behavior. The term psychology comes from the Greek word "psyche" meaning "breath, spirit, soul" and the "logia" meaning "study of". Psychology emerged from biology and philosophy and is closely linked to other disciplines including sociology, medicine, linguistics, and anthropology.

2. Psychology uses scientific methods

Psychologists use a range of techniques to study the human mind and behavior, including naturalistic observation, experiments, case studies, and questionnaires.

My first blog post!

Dear people,

I heard many of “you” say: Oh, I really love psychology and I like to read everything related to psychology. That’s perfect! You love to read – I love to write.
Some time ago, I came up with the idea to make a facebook page and start this blog which is about what I love the most, and that’s psychology.
