7 things you can do for your mental health.

1. Value yourself.

You need to treat yourself with kindness and respect. Try to avoid self-criticism. Find time only for yourself. Make time for your hobbies and favorite projects, or broaden your horizons.

Sometimes it's really easier to love others, than yourself. Maybe you don’t have a problem to be good to others, but it’s hard for you to be good to yourself. Why? What makes you so self-critical? Try this 7 DAY- love yourself challenge and see how good it feels to appreciate and value yourself.

2. Take care of your body.

Taking care of your physical health, improves your mental health. Try to:
- Eat nutritious meals.
- Avoid cigarettes and drugs.
- Drink more water.
- Exercise.
- Get enough sleep.

3. Surround yourself with people that make you happy.

Surround yourself with happy people, because they spread positive energy that makes you feel good in their presence. They are like a mirror - they reflect their happiness everywhere. Studies show that people who have strong family or social connections are generally healthier than those who lack a support network. Spend time with family members and friends who are supportive, happy and positive people, or find out some activities where you can meet new people (club, class or support group). Learn something more about the positive habits that happy people tend to follow.

4. Give of yourself.

Find some place to volunteer. Spend your time and energy to help someone else. We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone. You'll feel good about doing something tangible to help someone in need. This is also a great way to meet new people.

5. Learn how to deal with stress.

The stress takes a big part of our lives. Many of you impatiently waited for the weekend to relax from the stressful week that you had. If you want to use your free time this weekend to rest and relax, don’t’ miss to read my 5 favorite techniques for relaxation and stress relief. Also, remember to smile and see the bright side of your life. Laughter can boost your immune system, ease pain, relax your body and reduce stress.

6. Avoid alcohol and other drugs.

Keep alcohol use to a minimum and avoid other drugs. Sometimes people use alcohol and other drugs to "self-medicate" but in reality, alcohol and other drugs only aggravate problems.

7. Get help when you need it.

Seeking help is a sign of strength — not a weakness. The therapy is a hard process, it takes time and energy, but it’s also effective. You deserve to be happy and to live the life you want. You can be happy if you want. The only thing you need to do is take care of yourself. Therapy can be something that can help you achieve that. Here you can read a few things that you should know about therapy.
