Tell the world that you are beautiful.

Yesterday I saw the newest Dove’s campaign video Choose Beautiful. The video was shot in San Francisco, Shanghai, Delhi, London and Sao Paulo. They made an interesting experiment, setting up signs above side-by-side doors in these five cities around the world. In each city, one door read "Beautiful" and the other "Average." A camera crew observed the way women reacted to the marked doors and in which one they ultimately walked through. Most of the women walked through the "Average" door. Some laughed and walked through their chosen entrance quickly, while others paused and thought about the choice they were about to make.

Some of the women who were part of this experiment, in the video they discussed about their thoughts that they had before choosing a door.

One woman said: “Am I choosing because of what's constantly bombarded at me and what I'm being told that I should accept? Or am I choosing because that's what I really believe?" she asked. Another woman who also went the average route said: “Beautiful to me… it’s too far out of reach.”

A really interesting moment for me was when women were together. They often told each other to go through the beautiful door. One teenage girl said: “I wanted to go through the average door, but my mum just pulled me over to the beautiful door. “ Her mother encouraged her to go through the “beautiful” door. She wants her daughter and the other young people to know that they are beautiful.

The results of this Dove’s experiment are really powerful commentary on how many women perceive their own beauty.

Many women struggle with low self-esteem. They are not confident and they don’t know the value of their own personality. Their low self-esteem keeps them from realizing their full potential and beauty. They feel unworthy, incapable and incompetent.

But, all we know that it’s not the truth about us. Every woman on this planet, regardless of age, is beautiful, worthy and good enough. Maybe some of you only need a little support, someone to “ pull you over the beautiful door “ and encourage you to go through that door. Find a way to build and boost your confidence. You can learn something more about the self- esteem and how can you raise it here (follow the link).

Maybe some of you will say that this video is only full with marketing psychology. Yes, that is true, but you can try to use this Dove campaign for your own good. I hope that this video will encourage you to think about how to improve your self-esteem, starting from today. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it.

And now, stop for a moment and think about this video message.

Which door would you walk trough? Beautiful or average?
Would you describe yourself as a beautiful or average woman?
Are you ready to tell the world that you are beautiful?

Today, choose to love yourself and to believe in you.
